New Blog

I've been debating how to blog yet still be private without requiring people to "apply" to view my blog. I want to be open, yet, still somewhat in control of who reads the content of my blog. I've come to the conclusion that I must (at least at this time) discontinue writing this blog and start a new one. If you know me, you can contact me and ask about it and I will direct you. In any case I will be letting most of you know about it soon anyway. rebecca

Blame It On The Faulty Internet

I was in the mood for some gut spilling a few days ago but my Internet was down. Sadly, I cannot even remember what I was going to write.

Do you see what I'm dealing with here? The kids (and life) just suck it all out of me...

Spilling Guts

My dad was talking about his granddaughter, my niece, the other week and referred to her writings on her wonderful blog* as "spilling her guts."

He loved it and I love it too. It made me think that I haven't spilled my guts on here in a long long time. I think it's lack of time. Spilling ye old guts takes a tole, time-wise and emotionally. I have four daughters, I deal with emotion All Day Long.

I have, however, resolved to start spilling. I can do this. I will find the time. You, my faithful (8) readers, deserve some guts.

It's That Mango Time Of Year Again

A few weeks ago I stopped to drink freshly blended mango juice. A real (cheap) treat this time of year in India. It's mango season and you don't get them all year round.

As we pulled over to the stand I was acutely aware that it seems like just yesterday that we were drinking mango juice from this very same stand - yet it was last year. How can this be...?

I am often overwhelmed by the passage of time. One day drifts in to another and a week turns into a month and then a year.

Today I've been scrolling through my blog, looking for something. It's amazing how years of my life are passing before my eyes in seconds.

There's just this one life and it's all over so quickly. Thank heaven for the hope of heaven.

No Mood, No Time

I've suffered from a lack of interest in writing on the blog lately coupled with a lack of time. Occasionally when I have time, I'm not in the mood and when I have something to write, I have no time.

I Always Have An Excuse

As it was in the US, I have been without a home computer since I got back to India. Various problems existed that have hopefully now been fixed. However, I've had to come to O.'s office to work on the Internet and anytime you can't do it at home, well, it lessens the amount of things you get done. Hopefully, I'll be back on tract now. However, I'm leaving Monday for 6 days...

It's been a tough 3 months for blogging. Sorry.

Slow Internet

My Internet has gotten almost unbearably slow. For this reason I am often loath to even turn on the computer, hence the lack of blogging.

I have put in an application for a better, faster Internet service, hopefully, that will get connected soon.

Of Two Blogs

I've been skimming through the past several years of my blog because I have been allotted the task of making the "History" of our ministry to be read at our Bible College Graduation this weekend. It's a history of what God has done since 1999 when our ministry started. But I don't always remember everything and I definitely don't always remember when something happened.


Anyway, all that to say, my blog used to be a lot more interesting than it currently is. Sad.


I'm going to blame this on being the mother of (not only) four children, but being the mother of two children under the age of two.


Yes, I do realise that my blog has definitely become "The Mother Blog." Hummm.


This brings me to my point of me considering keeping this blog as it is and then also starting a separate ministry blog. Considering. Considering...

Blame It On The Computer

My lack of blogging has not been for lack of trying. Both my home and office computers had a virus that affected my Internet connection so I could only get a few minutes of connection at a time before my computer would crash and I would have to restart. Very frustrating.

Anyway, things seem better now...

Too Hot To Blog

I am the excuse queen when it comes to not blogging. Actually, I have a standard that I like to upkeep of quality and regularity in my posting. When I fall short, well, you get an excuse post like this onew.

But it really is too hot to blog or do anything on the computer. I am overdue for an annual newsletter and since I only have time to work on the computer in the afternoons and evenings - it's just not getting done. Way way too hot.

I'm also feeling disturbed today. I got an email telling me about friends of ours who also work like us in India but are currently in the US, saying that they were in a terrible car accident. The wife just had a baby by C-section 3 weeks ago. By God's grace they all survived with broken bones and bruises. But it's had me feeling weird all day. Then the people who live behind us were piping the water out of our water tank for a roof they were putting on and they didn't even ask.

I just had to go out back, pull the pipe out in front of them and tell them that this is not common neighborhood water and you should ask people first before stealing from them. Hrmf.

Mountains Of Laundry

We're back from Rajasthan, but I'm clawing my way out from behind the laundry. Only the pink loads are left. Thank Goodness.

Lots to blog, lots to show. I'll start tomorrow.

It's Good To Look Back

I was wondering about some baptisms so I just reviewed my Blog to get the info I needed. That was Convenient.

I knew this blogging thing was Great! Actually, it was brought to my attention a while back that our blogs can be made into (dahnt dahnt dahhhhhhhhnnt...) Books. I think that is so cool and I am totally going to do it. One of these days.

It's Just Too Much

Where do you begin after a month off from blogging? It feels strange to just pick up any old random place and post a picture or two (which I may do...). Of course I am feeling weird today, kind of confused about something, sort of like an irritation or a burning at the back of my neck, don't really want to talk (or write) about it.

I guess I'll just start loading the pictures instead then.
