Karuna Kids Baptized

On Tuesday over 30 people were baptized on the roof of our house. Many of them came from another city to be baptized here because they didn't know where else they could do it. Baptism is illegal in our state.

We also had some believers from our church baptized that day as well. And, at the very end, two of our Karuna children were obedient to the Lord and were baptized.

Here is Pooja at her baptism on Tuesday. I was privileged to lead her to the Lord when she was a small child about six years ago.

Joshua, Pooja's brother.

A Big Splash

After the baptisms on Tuesday it was a freeforall. Lot's of splashing and swimming and having fun. Gotta jump in while the tank is full.

Weird that our architect designed our house with a recessed area on the roof. Great for a swimming pool and baptismal tank tho...

At one location there were 79 people who were baptized! They did three at a time.
Notice the color of the water in the upper photos when the baptisms began and the color of the water in the next photo when they were nearing the end...

Praise the Lord!

Testimony From Pastor Madhu's Church

During the program at Pastor Madhu's church a woman gave her personal testimony, she was baptized later that day.* When Pastor Madhu planted this church over a year ago this woman was his enemy. She was outspoken against the work of the Lord and often confronted Pastor Madhu in public. In one such meeting Pastor Madhu was led by the Lord to say that she would soon be attending his church.

That week Pastor Madhu prayed and fasted for 3 days for this woman. On Sunday she came weeping to his church. She fell at his feet and cried. As he had been praying that morning the Lord revealed to him that the woman had HIV. As she wept he said I know your problem, you have HIV. The woman was amazed, it was true. Madhu was led by the Lord to tell the woman to fast and pray for seven days. The following Sunday the woman came and her face was shining. She had prayed and fasted and returned to the doctor. She was re-tested and there was no evidence of HIV.

She started to attend church regularly. She accepted the Lord as her savior. Around Easter time she wanted to be baptized. Pastor Madhu asked her to wait and grow in the Lord first. Last Wednesday I had the privilege of baptizing her in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

New Year's Day Baptisms - 2008

Happy New Year!

Eleven people were baptized this morning. Three girls from our Children's Home.
Two believers from church.
Six Bible Students. (This may be India, but January is still cold - poor guy looks like he's freezing!)
Praise the Lord! Afterwards we had a worship service, partook of the Lord's Supper together and then ate! Cricket, swimming and dancing were also part of the day's activities.
