Leaving Tomorrow

Five months of planning zoomed right on by. I leave leave tomorrow night for my trip to Nagpur (for the women's retreat) and my two weeks of Hindi training in Mussoorie.

I'll have a laptop and internet connection (God willing) and my phone. It's not like I'll be incommunicado.

I've settled everything here as best as I could, left O. a list of "Important Things to Know" and so I'm leaving the girls and everything else in O.'s capable hands (I think he'll end up shipping them out to various friends and relatives...)
Leaving E., C. & G. for two and a half weeks is the hardest thing. Pray for us. Thanks.

Dora

I was watching cartoons with C. this morning while she was waiting for school. Today it was Dora the Explorer - in Hindi You may wonder how this works.

I'm here to tell you. Where Dora would normally speak in English she talks in Hindi. When Dora would teach you Spanish - she now teaches you English. Plus, all the map locations are in English. "Lake, River, Biiiiiig MOUNTAIN!"

My sister-in-law said, "Kitna acha cartoon, English sikata hey!" - "What a great cartoon, it teaches you English!"

He Did It All

It was my week to lead the Ladies Bible study yesterday. We are once again in the process of preparing for a Bible Quiz in the beginning of September. One of the books we are studying is Romans.

So it came to be that I was assigned 3 chapters from Romans to teach yesterday afternoon - in Hindi.

To be honest, I just depended on the Lord, the thought of teaching on justification, sanctification, righteousness, etc. in Hindi nearly put me over the edge. I put it in the Lord's hands, it was so way out of my league.

But it was all OK in the end, and I learned lots of new words. To God be the Glory.
