Once Again, The Happiest Day Of The Year

It's the first day of school here in India and I'm one happy mom! I have no pictures of first day girls to post since O. said to send them in regular clothes instead of their uniforms because it is just TOO HOT.

We are waiting on the rain and it is just not coming but it unkindly sent in the humidity instead.

G. didn't make it to her first day of school ever because she has to go to the doctor today to get out her stitches (hopefully.) I'll send her tomorrow if all goes well. The kids all just cry the first two weeks anyway...

Mussoorie Rain

When I first arrived in Mussoorie, it was cold and it rained a lot. It remained cold the whole time, but the rain eventually stopped a few days before I came home.

Mountains in the rain.
City in the clouds.
Pouring, I mean really pouring, rain.

One Week Down

I've finished the 1st week of Hindi Language School. Whew! One teacher told me today that we can finish the entire 30 chapters of the book by next Friday when I'll have to leave. That would be fantastic.

I still feel like the Hindi grammar is like water slowly sinking into the hard dirt of my brain. But eventually it will all sink in - AND produce fruit. Whoohoo. I'm really glad I came, even tho it poured rain continuously for the last 24 hour and it's freezing (almost) and I hate being wet and cold. Not to mention lonely. :( Still miss my girls. Esp. my baby G.

Weeping Walls

When the walls at my house weep, there's been a lot of rain.

For Some Reason We Always Act Surprised

At the stroke o' midnight on July 1st (well, maybe not the stroke) it started to rain.

Rain.

I'm talking about Rain.

It finally stopped around Monday afternoon but has returned again today.

Houses are in and under under water. No electricity, no water, roads under water and blocked off. People rushing around trying to get vegetables and rations.

And we always act surprised. Each and Every year. It's Monsoon season, this is what it does - Rains.
