It's Good To Look Back

I was wondering about some baptisms so I just reviewed my Blog to get the info I needed. That was Convenient.

I knew this blogging thing was Great! Actually, it was brought to my attention a while back that our blogs can be made into (dahnt dahnt dahhhhhhhhnnt...) Books. I think that is so cool and I am totally going to do it. One of these days.

Stinkin' Mistakes

I got a Christmas Card in the mail today.

On the front of the envelope was stamped:

"Mistakenly sent to Bermuda"

That must happen quite a bit, I guess...

God With Me

I was reflecting over the last month that O. has been away and I realized that I have not faced a single major problem in all this time. Wow. Thank You Lord.

Thirteen Sermons

Tonight I listened to thirteen sermons, yes thirteen. Why O why? Because our thirteen Bible Students were practicing their preaching in a Hindi Bible Message Competition.

Each student had 5-10 minutes to give a short message. They did well for basically their first time. They'll do even better in the future. But this reminds me, I haven't even tallied up the scores yet to see who won...

Four Years Of Women's Ministry

Last night the Women's Ministry in our church celebrated our four year anniversary. Our Women's leader recently took a leave of absence to have a baby and last night gave her permanent resignation.

In the interim I've been covering things and it's been stressing me out because I am more of a helper type person than a main leader. At least when she gave her full resignation last night it opens the way for us to actively and openly find someone else. Soon I hope.

Anyway, the meeting was a blast.

Hmmmmm

I really like what God has had me doing the last few weeks while O. and Praveen are away. I've been wondering what it will be like once they are back. Weird. I'm praying about it.

I've been working on getting our Bible College Library together and it's all up but I now need to make a record of all the books. Time consuming but work I love. (All those years working in Barnes and Noble are paying off...) I wish I had a camera to send a picture.

I also went and dropped off one of our recent Bible College graduates in a city where we have one of our schools. They have been without a pastor for some time and I have been praying over the situation there and praying for a church to grow up.

The young man who went there today has been working since July as an Assistant pastor in our Head Office church and he will now be the Pastor of his own church. It's very exciting for me to be a part of this. I really have no desire to be anywhere else.

V Day

For year number 4, or is it 5, in a row, O. and I are not together on Valentine's Day. Well, no problem. V-Day falls right behind my birthday in "Days Of The Year That I Dread And Wish Would Pass Me Right By."

This year was good, I resolved to spend my V-day with unmarried people. So, I went to a garden with my 3 daughters, 2 nephews and 1 neice, and we had a really nice time.

Whew, glad this day is over.

House Pictures - Sorry

I know there was a request for "Girls" pictures but it's House Day today. I've been waiting for Wedding pictures to put up but I cannot seem to get my hands on the Photo CD.

Back to the house: The steel is up on the 2nd Floor. It took about a week to do this. All the steel you see was bent and attached together by HAND.
My nephew and G. on the steel. (Monday)
Prakash and G. on the cement (Today).
Cement was poured over steel. Now we wait a week to build on top of this.

Yes, That's A Lot of steel. We know. Apparently, we will have the strongest house in the world when it's all done....

It's February.

Can you believe it. February - and I haven't even blogged once til today. To be honest, I haven't even had time to Blog In My Head over the past week or two. Hmmmmm.

I have been LOVING being in charge, but it's a full time job.

On my 2nd day of being here without O. I was tested by just about every single member of O.'s family (Of which there are many who live with or near us). I laid down the law, gave some ultimatums, counseled and prayed. Since then everyone - family and non-family alike - has been in line. I have good people around me. Thank the Lord.

I'm keeping it tight over here.

Some things I have been dealing with:

1. The wife of one of our pastors is pregnant and due next week. Her BP is pretty high and she was admitted in the hospital for 2 days. They're not sure she'll be able to deliver without a C-section. They don't have any money. Her mother, only sister, and mother-in-law have all refused to come and stay with her during this time. I spent Thursday morning there.

2. We're interested in buying land for church/Bible College/etc. that is (was) owned by some Christian friends. Another person has purchased it, paid an amount of money but not all. We're also praying for it, but don't have the full money to buy out what the other people have already paid. The Christian family is stuck in the middle. I was there this afternoon sorting through this.

O. thrives on this kind of stuff, to me- it just sucks the blood right out a me. At the conclusion of today -All parties involved seem to be willing to wait a month til O. gets back. Whew.

3. One of our Rajasthan pastors was in an accident and a young child was killed. He's being threatened with being charged with murder. (I got that info this morning)

It's not all bad stuff - our church has made a hugh leap forward by appointing official Elders/Deacons this week. Something I have been working towards for years (literally.) Praise God.

Our Bible College is fully staffed, we'll have an official Library up and running next week. Yes!

My back hurts and I have some weird rash on my scalp, but umm, otherwise, I'm great.

That doesn't mean stop praying for me!
