Yesterday morning during our office devotions time we looked at 2 Corinthians 12. After reading through it together our pastor asked us each to share a few thoughts on the passage.
Verse 9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" is a verse I think about often. During my "few thoughts" I admitted that there are times where I feel and I say to God, "Your grace isn't enough for me today."
But then I shared that after it all, God always brings me out on the other side, therefore proving that His grace was sufficient for me, even if I felt like it wasn't.
This is a lesson I'm learning, that God's grace being sufficient for me is not dependant on whether or not I feel like it is sufficient or not.
I guess I really could have learned all I needed to know about this from the "Footprints" poem.

18. Personal holiness is more important than temporal happiness
a. Ephesians 5:26-27: that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
19. God is more concerned about changing me and glorifying Himself than about solving my problems
a. Romans 8:29: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
20. It is impossible to be godly without suffering
a. 1 Peter 5:10: And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
21. My suffering will not last forever
a. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18: For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
22. It’s not about me; it’s all about Him
a. Colossians 1:16-18: For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
b. Revelation 4:11: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
